who we are

Julia and Chris

Inspired by our son and our daughter.

We’re thrilled to welcome you into the heart of family and heart of our growing business. Just a joyful quartet consisting of Mom, Dad, and our two curious explorers.

At the core of our family, you’ll find a shared passion for fostering a love of learning, creativity, and independence. We are trying to create an environment where our children can thrive, grow, and develop into their unique selves. Having been lucky enough to find the most amazing local Montessori School, really projected us deeper along this path. We saw a need when our eldest turned around the age of 1. Wanting often to contribute to the household activities, but it always being just out of his reach.

The idea of Intrinsic Kids was born, as we developed some quick solutions to some of these out of reach problems. We see the home not just a place to live; but as a space to connect, whether it’s a cozy reading nook, a garden filled with fascinating discoveries, or a kitchen where little hands are encouraged to help, we strive to create an environment that mirrors the beauty of a tactile approach.

Julia (Mom) – The creative spirit behind our adventures, always finding innovative ways to inspire learning and curiosity. A background in design (all aspects of the word), now bringing her creativity to a functional furniture line.

Chris (Dad) – The architect of our DIY projects, turning our home into a haven of exploration and discovery. A background in millwork and manufacturing, bringing business know-how and the “get-it-done-right” attitude, much required.

Our Son – With an active and extremely curious spirit, he is a big feeler, and always ready for the next adventure.

Our Daughter – Bold but sweet, was our unicorn baby (always sleeping and happy), has evolved into a little lady who know what she wants, and can communicate that with a single glance.

Join us on this incredible adventure! As we grow and develop not only our family, but also this business.
